Grooming Guide For Guys

When it comes to skincare it can be pretty much a minefield. Especially when you’ve been using soap and water all your life or thinking sure you’ll be grand with the 5-in-1 body wash. We have a routine that’s a little step up from the above which will have your mates saying “hey pal, you look great!”

Mens skin can have all sorts of troubles like acne, wrinkles and sun damage. Not to mention of course the rashes or irritations caused from shaving. All these can be resolved from taking a little extra care in looking after your skin. The main thing here is consistency. Consistency is key to most things in life but especially when it comes to skincare!

1.       Cleansing

Start with cleansing as it builds the foundation for everything that comes after it.

Why? Cleansing removes dirt, oils and daily grime that have built up on the surface of the skin over the course of the day so it’s important we aren’t sleeping in this as during the night is when our skin cells go into repair mode. In the morning, a quick cleanse is needed to freshen up the skin and remove any oils on the skin from during the night. We want a cleanser that will purify without stripping the skin.

Eve Taylor Daily Face Wash is perfect as it has a foaming action which cuts through daily grime while also having a balancing and calming effect on the skin.

- Use a small amount morning and evening. Build into a lather and work in circular motions all over the face. Rinse with lukewarm water.

2.       Exfoliation

You actually exfoliate your skin every time you shave so this step is something you’d do once to twice a week. We exfoliate to remove dead skin cells, which leaves the skin looking brighter, fresher and less congested.

The Eve Taylor Skin Scrub is great to use pre-shave as it lifts hairs giving you a closer shave. It also helps to reduce ingrown hairs in the beard area, leaving your skin smooth and soft.

- Apply to a wet face, working in circular motions. Focus on beard growth and areas like nose, chin and forehead where there tends to be more congestion. *Not suitable for sensitive skin.

3.       Shaving

Now your skin is prepped, your ready to shave. A shave oil can be used underneath your shaving foam or gel to give great glide and protect sensitive skin. It can also be applied post shave to soothe and calm any redness or irritation.

- Spritz some oil onto the beard and massage in to cover the whole area.

Follow with the Shave Gel for an easy ‘no razor burn’ shave. It leaves your skin feeling cool and refreshed.

- Wet hands and apply a little to the tips of the fingers. Rub together into a lather and then apply to the beard. Shave as normal.

4.       Moisturiser

The final step is the moisturiser. This is important for protection and to hydrate the skin. Regardless of whether your skin is dry or oily, you need to be using a moisturiser! The Eve Taylor Skin Balm is lightweight and quickly absorbs into the skin without leaving it shiny. It has healing properties which help with razor nicks. Apply to the whole face morning and night. For SPF protection on top use Solar Shield or C+ Bright in the morning time.

There are more in-depth steps that can be added but this covers the basis of skincare and perfect for any man to have him looking and feeling his best everyday!
